What the inverter does in a Fischer Panda generator
Fischer Panda i-series generators run at variable speed. The alternator then produces voltage at a varying frequency, and the PMGi inverter converts it into stable mains power for the yacht, vehicle or facility.
This lets the generator run slower and quieter at low load — but all of the output power passes through the inverter electronics. An inverter fault means no power, even when the engine and alternator are fine.
Common symptoms
FAILURE light on
The inverter reports a fault and gives no output.
No 230 V output
The generator runs, but loads receive no power.
Shutdowns under load
Power drops out when larger loads switch on.
Overheating and fan issues
Noisy, dead or constantly running fan, thermal shutdowns.
Unstable voltage

We check the alternator, wiring, controls and the inverter itself — the fault is not always in the electronics.

The inverter is removed and diagnosed on our electronics bench in Żukowo.

After repair we test the inverter with a generator before it goes back.

Yes. A well-packed inverter can be sent by courier to our workshop in Żukowo — call before shipping so we can discuss the symptoms.
Does the inverter always need replacing?
No. We diagnose the cause first — often the fault is in the wiring, controls or alternator rather than the inverter.
How long does a repair take?
It depends on the fault and parts availability. We give you a date after diagnosis, before starting the repair.
Can you service the generator at the same time?
Yes. We can service the generator as well to check the whole power system.
